Our Mission
The Misty Copeland Foundation was established in 2021 with the mission to:
- Provide opportunities for children in under-resourced communities to engage their bodies, hearts, and minds in learning through dance, especially ballet.
- Advance the art form of ballet through greater diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Pursue social justice through arts activism.
Support Our Vision
The Misty Copeland Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support its programs. Make a contribution today to help the communities we serve grow and learn through BE BOLD, our introductory ballet program for children; BE BOLD Next Steps, which supports BE BOLD graduates going on to more formal dance education at The Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and 92NY; and BE BOLDER, offering adults 50 and older the opportunity to learn dance through movement-based ballet.
